According to VoidConcept. More context for this bug, it looks like the new launcher isn't unpacking the assets into assets/virtual/legacy. I re-downloaded the old launcher, launched the game so that the assets are loaded, then switched back to the new launcher and everything worked.Attempting to launch before from the new launcher created the assets/virtual/legacy folder, but the folder. Installation (Important)

  1. Download and install Curse Forge launcher (Download Curse Launcher)
  2. Install Curse launcher
  3. After installation is complete click Launch and select Minecraft
  4. Give launcher a few seconds to install Minecraft
  5. Click on Browse Modpacks and install any modpack
  6. After installation click Play
  7. As Minecraft launcher starts (when you're in login menu) close it
  8. Go back to curse launcher and click on Settings (gear icon) in bottom right
  9. Search for Minecraft and select it
  10. Look for Minecraft modding folder and copy location of folder
  11. Now download custom Minecraft launcher from below and visit following location:
  12. C:UsersYourPCnameHerecurseforgeminecraftInstall
  13. replace minecraft.exe or minecraft.jar with custom launcher
  14. (For windows it needs to be .exe launcher)
  15. After launcher was replaced go back to forge launcher
  16. Exit Settings and go back to mods tab
  17. Select Play and wait for launcher to download needed files and load
  18. Enter your username and click Options and select Stay Logged In this step is important else it won't work.
  19. Select Done and Play
  20. After it loading is complete close the launcher and return to Curse launcher
  21. Click on Play again and launcher will start downloading needed files.
  22. When launcher loads click Play
  23. Enjoy playing!

  24. From now on simply download modpack you wish to play and click play and modpack will automatically switch.
