Step 1. Open a new Firefox page and type in the address field the following command about:config, then press ENTER. Firefox will display a warning message according to which, any further setings will affect the stability, security and the browser performance. You need to ignore this message and press “I accept the risk!”.

Step 2. The browser will redirect you to it’s plugin page. Please push the right button of your mouse and go to New->Boolean and type a suggestive plugin name, in our case plugin.load_flash_only, then press OK button.

Set the value of this new added plugin as FALSE, then finalize the settings by pressing the OK button. At this point this new plugin will be found among the other existing plugins used by Mozilla Firefox.

Step 3. Now, access the Roaming folder under AppData by pressing the Windows button and type %appdata%.

Step 4. Brows to Mozilla->Firefox->Profiles folder and search for prefs.js file. Right click and choose the Edit option.

Step 5. Paste the following option user_pref(„plugin.load_flash_only”, false); between any two user preferences and save the file.

Step 6. Now, back to the address field, enter the IP address of your Hikvision applicance, the click the “i”-information button form the left side then hit the right arrow. Go to More Information.

Step 7. From the Permissions tab, search the Web Components module software, and check the Allow option.

Step 8.Close and reopen the browser, type in the Hikvision unit IP address, then press Enter. Firefox will ask the permission for running the new created plugin which you’ll have to allow it, them you’ll be redirect to the login page, from where live images, settings and so on can be reached.
